For two years, OPUS have had the pleasure of support a local fave - CoCoMad, a much-loved annual community run arts festival. Taking place right on our doorstep in Cotteridge Park, we have seen it go from strength to strength.
In July 2024, we brought back last year’s popular CoCoCorner, working with Emma Woolf MBE, Chair of Friends of Cotteridge Park and the Festival team to curate a progamme and design a space specifically for girls. The creative programme included dance workshops, DJ sets, musical performances and more.
Building on our creative offer, we collaborated with the festival to programme CoCoWoods, a space for more intimate and gentler family performances such as storytelling pieces.
This year, we supported them to secure ACE funding for the development of a brand new B’Opera show - Fluffy the Flighty Cloud, a musical adventure designed to bring the beauty of live music to little ones in a way they'll never forget. The funding also allowed us to extend the outdoor arts programme and bring Fluid Motion Theatre's Take Ten swing installation to Cotteridge too.
