Premiered at Birmingham Light Festival 2025, the Floor is LAVA x Silent Disco drew thousands of participants over four nights, becoming a headline attraction and social media magnet with its very own smoking volcano. It was rated the top installation by visitors who attended Birmingham Light Festival. With custom programming opportunities, it proved adaptable, joyful, and highly engaging FUN way to interact with light!

How does it work?
Lady Lava loves bringing the heat to any dance floor! Grab a wireless headset and join her in a dance. Multiple curated music channels are available – adaptable and customisable depending on the event and musical heritage of your city/town. Vibrant lighting in blues, purples, pinks and greens flood the space to amp up the party atmosphere. Then, suddenly...
WARNING! WARNING! The music changes across all channels and the lights turn red. You must follow the instructions of Lady Lava and the lava song to run, jump and dance your way way to safety! The lights are programmed to move across the floor in oranges and yellows, creating a playful sense of jeopardy without evoking panic, or encouraging everyone running for the same area on the dancefloor. Once the lava alert stops, the lights change back and the party continues - congratulations, you have avoided the lava!
