Overview
With lots of exciting forthcoming plans, OPUS are looking to expand our network of fantastic freelancers to help with event development and delivery over the coming months. We would love to meet freelancers based in the Midlands from all experiences and backgrounds.
OPUS deliver cultural and artistic festivals and events for a range of organisations and clients; from large outdoor spectacle shows to smaller activations in both public and commercial spaces. After a busy 18 months for the Midlands region, we are keen to (re)connect with individuals working across the sector to stage more unforgettable events!
We'd love to hear from...
We are looking for Professionals working across the cultural, events and arts sectors who can support us in delivering our varied portfolio of events, as and when required. We are interested in receiving applications from people with a range of experience - this could include seasoned Event Managers, Stage Managers and Producers, but also those who have only worked on events in entry level positions or as volunteers before now. Fees will be commensurate to the individual’s experience and their responsibilities at each event.
We are looking for individuals who are able to lead on:
Event Management
Stage Management
Artist Liaison and Welfare
FOH assistance and audience liaison
Site Management
Coordinating with venue staff
Production Coordination
and more!
Requirements

Hardworking and proactive - a team player

Collaborative and friendly - building positive relationships with the wider OPUS team, our associates and artists

Flexible and adaptable - a quick learner and problem solver

Some experience of working / volunteering in events (in outdoor, theatre or found spaces)

Your own Public Liability Insurance
-
Registered, or would commit to registering, as self-employed, and be responsible for their own National Insurance contributions

Able to supply references upon request
We are also particularly keen to hear from people who:

Are based in Birmingham and the wider Midlands region

Drive their own vehicle, be it a van or a car!

Have specific event skills e.g. Stage Management, Technical, Venue Dressing

Are First Aid trained
-
Are from backgrounds which are traditionally underrepresented in the Arts and Events Sectors
