OPUS worked to the brief of Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council [RSCTC] to deliver the third annual CITP in Sutton Park. Event planning included re-engaging all relevant stakeholders such as Birmingham City Council and Sutton Park Rangers, local community groups and blue light services to ensure the continued success of the event . Headlined by the full City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, OPUS were responsible for managing the Orchestra musicians, platform and planning team, sourcing the supporting programme including the very popular Jive Aces and a local community artist on the Saturday.
OPUS bought in a new more efficient box office supplier with digital tickets. OPUS managed all artist riders including hotel bookings and travel arrangements plus all of the orchestra requirements including set finalisation and compere scripting and notes. The audio visual offer included a big Screen capable of servicing sponsor requirements, emergency safety messaging and live broadcast.
For the Sunday new programming elements were added that included dance and opera for the young clientele - and their parents!. We redesigned the event to include new opportunities for sponsor visibility and hospitality, including improved branding. OPUS presented new community projects on the Sunday stage programme including four local choirs and a youth theatre finale piece. Concerts in the Park has been OPUS trained and managed 11 volunteers across the event space and car park, who contributed 135 volunteer hours - including a student placement.

For me, the top strength and the relationship bond, is with professionalism and the desire to do things the right way, both morally and in a legal way. There are many companies I work with that are happy to appoint, and not listen, but OPUS is very refreshing in that they do listen and do try to engage with what I am also trying to achieve. They do not just try to tick a box. Thoroughly enjoy working with them and seeing their success and continued engagement.
I love working with OPUS, they really consider the artistic experience throughout for the attendees from the first stages of planning, which is something we keep at the heart of everything we create as a company. They are extremely reliable and professional throughout the delivery, making it very easy to collaborate. We love the relationship we have together and always look forward to the next event!
